My birth father was a joker
He was telling a story about a lamb and a cow
To illustrate his point
He pointed to my brother Miro
‘You are the lamb that gives meat to your brother’
And to my other brother Radulf
‘You are the cow because the milk you give will nourish this house’
We all laughed and basked in his loved for all three of us
His beloved sons
What my father meant was that
My brother Miro was to be my protector and give me advice and support
Radulf was to be my financial keeper and storehouse
But life gave us surprises
The three of us
Never expected!
